LAURA MORAN knew she loved writing since she was in third grade and turned in a 25-page book report on Abraham Lincoln in crayon. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California’s prestigious Writing for Screen & Television program. Now a hugely successful television comedy writer, Laura has worked on shows such as How I Met Your Mother, Undateable, Harley Quinn, The Neighborhood, Universal Basic Guys and Going Dutch. She has written jokes for Denis Leary, Max Greenfield, Cedric the Entertainer, Beth Behrs, Tichina Arnold, Danny Pudi, Rory Scovel, Ron Funches, Whitney Cummings, Brent Morin, Emily Heller, John C. McGinley, Skylar Astin, Briga Heelan and many others. In 2020 she and Ted Lasso co-creator Bill Lawrence sold a show to Warner Bros. with Eden Sher (The Middle) attached. In 2023, she co-wrote and executive produced an animated comedy for Paramount+. In 2024, she sold a workplace comedy to CBS. She has been featured on Deadline and in Glamour, Written By Magazine, Silver Linings Magazine and others.

Laura has traveled all over the world. Memorable travel experiences include when a monkey in a child’s snowsuit climbed on her head in St. Petersburg, Russia and when she had the worst hair day in history while hiking Machu Picchu, thereby making it impossible to use the pictures on her dating profile, rendering the whole trip pointless.

Laura lives in Los Angeles with her two cats, Ace Ventura and Ray Kinsella.
Ace recently learned to take selfies. →
